Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. Jacqueline is the oldest of two siblings and a younger sibling. Due to unrest in Sri Lanka, her family were forced to relocate to Bahrain in the late 1980s. The scholarship she received allowed her to go to an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her education in Bahrain. She also attended in the Berlitz School of Foreign Languages that helped her learn French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was the crown of March 2006. she also participated in Miss Universe 2006 In 2006, she was awarded her the Miss Sri Lanka title. After that, she went into the world of television, hosting an interview show on Sri Lankan companies known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone, the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. When she was a teen, Padukone was a participant in numerous national badminton tournaments. She eventually gave up the sport when she decided to be a professional fashion model. Padukone is a native of Mangalorean origins and speaks Konkani as her native language. Her lineage hails from Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the State of Karnataka, India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of world-class fame, while her mother works as a travel agent.
